Join Peace Winds in advocating for refugees and celebrating fathers around the world

This year, Father’s Day falls on the same day as World Refugee Day: Sunday June 20, 2021. The world is currently facing the largest refugee crisis in history; conflict and climate change have forced over 65 million refugees to flee their homes, many of whom cannot return due to threats of violence and poverty. The challenge is even greater for refugee fathers who guide their children through the most difficult period of their lives, providing protection and support as the family leaves everything familiar behind in search of security and livelihood opportunities.

Peace Winds supports these fathers and their children all over the world, including in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq where many Syrians, the world’s most displaced people, flee to escape war and economic hardship. We’re working to construct better housing, provide food and schooling, and train refugees in construction so they can enter the workforce and earn a better income to support their families.

We’re excited to invite you to join us in celebrating Father’s Day and World Refugee Day. Click here to donate to our GlobalGiving campaign and support our work with Syrian refugees in Iraq. Then head over to our ecard page to send an ecard to a loved one or share on social media and help spread the word. We don’t have all the answers, but we do know that if we all work together, we can make a big difference in the lives of millions of people.
