Restoring Livelihoods, Empowering the Most Vulnerable

“At Peace Winds, we listen as circumstances change and adapt our
programming to community needs,” says Patrick Hurley, Iraq Program Manager. “One thing we hear frequently is the difficulty of earning an income in the camps. With that in mind, we worked this year with a local organization in Kurdistan (Judy Organization for Relief and Development) to train women to sew and build their own businesses.”

Refugees are struggling to find employment in the camps.

Women are learning to sew and at the program’s end each will receive a sewing machine to begin generating their own income. This project was made possible by funds raised by our generous supporters.
