Typhoon Talim hits Kyushu

Typhoon Talim hit Kyushu Sunday morning, September 17. Heavy rains and winds left over 1,400 households in Kumamoto, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima prefectures without power. Nearly 60,000 households in parts of Oita and Miyazaki prefectures were ordered to evacuate due to flooding concerns, with up to 120 mm of rain per hour measured in Saiki, Oita Prefecture.
