Annual Disaster Giving

PWA has operated disaster relief and recovery initiative in West Sumatra (2009), Taiwan (2009), Haiti (2010 and 2016), Japan (2011-2016 and 2016-2017), the Philippines (2012 and 2013), and Nepal (2015-2016).  PWA’s extensive response to the Japan’s March 11, 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami won it broad recognition in Japan and the U.S. PWA provides food, shelter and clothing, offering comfort and care to help those affected during their time of greatest need. Members of our Annual Disaster Giving program pre-invest in disaster relief, ensuring PWA can pre-position supplies, secure shelters, maintain vehicles and train responders and volunteers worldwide, so we’re always ready to respond.

Campaign Sponsorship

During key times of year, PWA focuses on reaching the U.S. and Japanese public with urgent appeals in support of our services. PWA also has project-based campaigns that promote post-disaster recovery in particular regions. When you align with our campaigns, you spotlight your company’s commitment and reinforce a cause relevant and meaningful to your customers and employees.

Campaign Matching

To extend your corporate philanthropy, the Campaign Matching program provides your company the opportunity to support a giving campaign planned by PWA. Your company commits to match donations made by the public during a limited period.  This matching gift encourages an individual donation during the campaign. Your company contributes significantly to disaster preparedness and response and is fully recognized in our campaign materials and promotions.
