Peace Winds America (PWA) CEO, Aanenson, with Civil-Military Program Manager, Ehrenfeld, and Board Member, General Conant, met the Commander of U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM), Admiral Harris, and other PACOM officials in Honolulu, Hawaii, from June 26th to 29th.
PWA and PACOM officers and staff reviewed disaster preparedness and response within the Pacific region with the intent to reduce the impact of disasters through more effective planning and training before disasters strike, and more collaboration and targeting during response.
During the trip, PWA also held discussions with officers at the Center for Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance and at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Pacific Affairs. In addition, PWA met with the Hawaii National Guard and the USPACOM AID/OFDA Representative.
