Project Assistant- Hai Phong Disaster Risk Reduction Program

Peace Winds America (PWA) is seeking a Project Assistant for the Hai Phong Disaster Risk Reduction Program.  This position will assist with the implementation of a 36 month program strengthening collaboration and cooperation on disaster risk management in Hai Phong, Vietnam. This position reports to the Field Project Manager.

Term of Employment:  12 month contract with possibility of extension


• Translating documents from English to Vietnamese and Vietnamese to English (such as manuals, guides, and training curriculum
• Support with gathering baseline and evaluation data collection and entering and analysis using excel and other programs as directed by FPM and PM
• Interpreting in meetings, training classes and conferences
• Supporting project coordination/logistics for: meetings and training workshops, conference calls, skype calls , travel, arrangements, including follow-up at the field level with all appropriate partners
• Phone and related communications customer service
• Other administrative duties as directed by FPM

• University degree and two to three years related experience

• Working knowledge and awareness in DRR and climate change sectors

• Experience working with government, business and nonprofit sectors in Hai Phong

• Excellent English and Vietnamese skills

• Excellent computer skills including data entry and database management experience

• Experience with budget management and financial tracking
