Japan Relief & Recovery Fund
We appreciate your support for the people of Japan!
Transition from Emergency Relief to Relief and Recovery
Immediately after the earthquake and tsunami struck northeastern Japan, Peace Winds America (PWA) launched a fund to accept donations in support of emergency relief efforts. Because the immediate needs were so great, PWA elected to send 100% of all donations to our sister organization Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) for delivery of food, water, shelter, fuel, tele-communications equipment, other emergency supplies, and relief services to survivors in areas that were hit hardest by the disaster. PWA CEO Chuck Aanenson immediately flew to Japan and spent over two weeks helping to initiate Peace Winds relief efforts. On May 5th, eight weeks after the quake and tsunami struck, Peace Winds America has stopped accepting donations to the Japan Emergency Relief Fund.
PWA continues to accept donations to the Japan Relief & Recovery Fund in support of Peace Winds programs to rebuild communities, aid the elderly, and restore livelihoods in Miyagi and Iwate prefectures.
Peace Winds thanks all our donors for your generous and continued support!
PWA is a 501(c)3 organization. Tax ID (EIN): 26-3744952.
Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
